Greetings, please have a look at my ongoing AAR/fake history of naval battles from 1983. I ve been using Peter Phelps solo version of Taskforce, along with maps from the Fleet series and then resolving battles on the game table using Shipwreck rules. Photos of this bloody war and maps included as this unfolds. Constructive comments welcome..I m enjoying researching and playing this even the gamey aspects, such as a 1000 ton corvette included in the Black sea flotilla sailing out into the Med! no hull numbers on most of these models in the pics, I guess I d need to photoshop them to avoid duplicate sinkings!

Some really cool and atmospheric pictures on your blog, jbvibe!

The 80s is, for me, the most fascinating era of modern naval.

Excellent work. Really like that you are using Taskforce. One of those forgotten gems. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the solo version rules. I haven't been able to find them.

Thanks,
Dale

Hi DaleWill, sorry for the glacial response.. I just checked this message board after a long absence. I just cherry picked the parts pf the Taskforce solo version (link pasted below) that I liked. TF solo variant was good for choosing fleets for the opposition, and aircraft readiness. I used Shipwrecks supplement Freeplay 88 for search rules on Fleet series hex maps,..as they share the 50NM dimensions..next time I play a campaign like that I might try adapting search rules from 'Nightfighter' that might be more exciting.
