Typically, when doing historical forces, I like to have some idea of what the subject's organization was. However, on this subject, I found – perhaps to no surprise, considering their nature – vanishingly little. Do you fine gentlemen and ladies have any information in this regard? An outline of the TO&E is what would be ideal. |

As I understand it, the SEAL were deployed by 12 man platoons and were divided into two 6 man squads. In most cases only a single squad was assigned a mission. All kinds on weapons were used by the teams including M-16s, shotguns, M-60, bloopers (sometimes cut down) and their own Stoner LMG. |

Wasn't there, Colonel. But from what I have read, it was apparently not uncommon for someone in a Seal or SF or LRRP Team to occasionally carry an AK47, whose distinct firing signature would be less likely to arouse enemy suspicions. B |

The platoon were 12 enlisted men and 2 officers. The OiC commanded one squad and the 2iC the other. Many ops were done with just 1 squad , but heavy teams of the whole platoon. If heavier contact was intended. They would often have other allied unit personal attached. LDNN, Vietnamese Seals. Even ANZAC SAS. |
