I just bought this nice little primer on the Anglo-Dutch Wars: Bloody Red Flag: The Anglo-Dutch Naval wars – a guide for wargamers and modellers I found nothing new or ground-breaking in it, but it is a superb summary of background information on the period for wargamers, and will save you hundreds of dollars and dozens of years hunting for the same information in history books. It doesn't contain any battle descriptions or maps or OOBs, it is background info only. - Ix |

Favorite period for AOS. Unfortunately too late for me. I already spent a lot on hard to find references. Is it just a potted history? Or does it also describe how to get started, building fleets, painting, scenarios, rules, etc….? |

Really just a potted history with background information that it takes time to pull out on your own (like general statements about tactics, ship design, etc.). Too late for me too, but I would have been really happy with this booklet about 25 years ago. |
