Played Subbuteo, does that count?

Bloodbowl. As I am otherwise a strictly historical gamer Bloodbowl is the only fantasy game I still play… cause it makes me giggle and the figures are fun to paint…

Subbuteo can be fun – but didnt count that as a wargame

Might be interesting to try the same type of flick and play for a skirmish and see how it works

What exactly is a sports based wargame? Or do you mean simply sports based game?

I have played baseball, football, basketball, auto racing, and my favorite, hockey board games (cards & dice) for 40 years. If that is what you mean then yes.

Does Gaslands count? Or "Circus Maximus", or my "Mad Wet Max" post apocalype powerboat racing game? If yes then yes I have :)

Also, racing scenarios in Car Wars, gladiators, pig sticking and the golf game that my wife bought (it turns into a war the way she plays it anyway!)

+1 huron725.

I had the exact same reaction. What the heck is a sports based game? I played the old AH game "Strategy Football" is it that type of game?

My dad and I have run "Corner Kick" a soccer/football game at almost every HMGS East convention for the past 12 years. Many folks have played it. In 2014 we had an audience of over 30 guys watching the end of our World Cup final game between Spain and Brazil. The game went to penalty kicks which Brazil won 4-3.

I painted the Dallas Cowboys for an American football game the Staines club produced for Salute. Never been so bored.

Tell a lie: I've played ‘What a Tanker'.
