You were asked – TMP link Have you looked at your life expectancy, and has it caused you to change your gaming hobby goals? 19% said "Yep! I've re-aligned my gaming goals and projects already, been in this mode for many years, already" 17% said "No, even though I am advancing into middle-age to elderly status, I don't care/can't be bothered." 15% said "Yes, I need to figure it out… Soon. Maybe. (Founding member of Procrastinators-R-Us)" |

Is starting Napoleonics at 59 too old? I've been wanting to do it for years, but afraid I won't get far because I must provide both sides. |

Welcome to Napoleonics, Mr. Tibbles. You're never too old, and if you start a thread telling us what you'd like to do--scale, theater, level of battle--you'll be amazed at all the suggestions for doing it cheap and fast. Some of us will probably offer troops. |

One day the Peninsula in 6mm – the project I put on and off the table the most |

I decided long ago that once I hit 70 I'd start selling all my gaming stuff. So far (6 months) I'm $3,000.00 USD richer and have a lot less for the family to eventually deal with. |

Skipper Jack, I am in that mode now at 62 and happier for it. I am moving away from huge tabletop armies except my first love, Napoleonics and towards skirmish and small unit games. Half of my sale proceeds go on the mortgage and the rest get reinvested. Still a lot to go though. |

At 74 I have scaled down my collection to three periods. I still add units to each of these ranges though. |

I am 64 and because of disability, I am working on 6mm because I have a 30" x 48" table. I have had micro armour and acw but am now painting, poorly, French and British for the Peninsula. I have always had an interest in Napoleonics so I figured time to take the plunge. |
