Treat a dog well, and he'll love you for life.

Miniatures are similar. No matter how many battles I've sent them into, they are always willing for one more. They never strike, they never demand back pay, they never complain about their rations.

Dice on the other hand, are truly fickle friends…

Dice are like cats. Cats do what they want, they don't care if you are happy or not, they roll however they roll….just like cats.

I thought you meant they were furry and pooped everywhere. Not like my minis at all.

That's exactly why I refuse to switch out my Betsy Ross flags for something newer and hipper.
My Erbprinz and von Bose regiments will NOT be getting newer more "accurate" flags, just because I took the wrong advice 30+ years ago.
Nor will I take the flags away from my Guards.

Old dogs are the best, and they don't need to have their hair dyed purple. They've been faithful all these years.

Old minis getting furry is a different problem… wink

Old units in my ownership often get a new basing treatment. This revitalises their luck and performance ( that is not true, but sounds good to say it)

On the other hand, I can go on holiday and not have to take my figures with me, or put them in a home. Or is that what a "Wargames Holiday Centre" for?

Oh. "Minis" must be different from miniatures, who multiply like tribbles if you don't take steps, occupy all the furniture and are never to be found when you actually need them. They do, of course, resemble dogs in these respects.

I was thinking that you meant that after a time that they and their owner started to look alike.

My minis are more like cats and bunnies.

At least judging by the cat and bunny fur that can always be found on them, no matter how recently they've been groomed. (That stuff floats everywhere!)
