Hi

I recently setup a new account on ebay to sell my figures through (Triguard Miniatures), and initially created six listings. They only put four on the site as they thought two were duplicates; they weren't, but I could see where they were coming from.

I thought the initial charge was a bit high, but didn't do a deep dive immediately. I recently changed the four listings that were up to include a Buy It Now, and got another charge. Which I expected.

Then I did a deep dive on the initial charges. On the 28th of July, when I posted the initial listings, I was charged for three separate features on each listing; initial, bold, sub-category. Fair enough. Then I noticed, that each charge had been repeated four times!
So for four listings, there were a total of 48 individual charges. Pretty sure that is not right.

I am waiting for a response to my questioning of the charges, but I am not holding out a lot of hope for a good outcome.
This may be a short relationship.

I always use their message service. Type"human" and you get someone in minutes. Always helpful and quick once your conversation begins.

auction

I'm assuming this was sorted out as I only see the one auction.

Seems like 4 auctions with offers for buying as well that are up currently.

Enjoyed seeing these! I'm painting 40mm AWI currently, some are of the Triguard line from before. Cheers!

It would be good to have more pictures of the miniatures on the Triguard site.

E-bay made a strategic decision to try and get small time sellers off the platform, and concentrate on big corporate sellers. So they made it increasingly annoying to simply list an item and put it up for bid.

I gave up and now sell on the market place here, Bartertown and FB. But I'm just clearing out stuff I don't need.

Also, the filters at Ebay make it impossible to list things like guns (so Troopers with Assault Rifles will get flagged since they think you are selling guns).

I just want to mention a few things.

First of all, those figures look really excellent! Really great poses. Also, I post on ebay a lot. Never had any issues like you mentioned. Not sure what would have caused that for you.
One suggestion I have is to clarify in the description somehow that the post is for a pack of 12 figures. When I initially saw the listings I assumed they were only for 1 painted figure each.
I try to describe contents as much as possible in description so someone that is interested does not pass it over.
Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback folks. I should have added, I have held an ebay account personally for about 22 years. I cancelled it because it was created when I lived in the UK and I hadn't used it for a few years. So wanted to start afresh.

Prior to getting this account started, I had tried twice before using separate emails. Both accounts were "permanently suspended" within minutes of being setup. When I engaged with the help desk, over four or five emails, I was still left confused.
The best answer I could get for why, was that I had done something wrong but if they told me what it was, someone else might have found out and tried it for themselves.

And this morning, I woke up to an invoice for one of those suspended accounts!

Weird.

Ebay is no longer friendly to small time sellers.

You could try opening up their entry level store. Listing is much easier and many time less exp. It also allows to have categories.

I used to sell Trident/Vanguard myself until I realized that the product line was to large and very pricey. For awhile I tried creating 10 figure bundles with the same figure mix in each to compete with the other major 40mm maker. During that time I did fairly well on eBay selling singles and small sets.

Photos are a must. I paid a local photographer to take pictures off all the figure sets I was selling. I first black washed them.

Well I made a bunch of money on eBay a couple of months ago. 💰🤑 I took the pics myself as I always take photos of my minis to show online, etc.

Plus you have to consider postage, eBay's cut, and maybe PayPals … 💸 … depending.

LOL, just re-read the listing fees rules for ebay. The first 250 listings are free? I was charged, on average, $7.50 USD for each listing.
Somethings wrong.

I just had the cart try to charge me $1,075 USD combined shipping for 6 toy soldier wins. Darn element x is some heavy stuff.
