This one kind of made me chuckle.
With the whole issue of game/ground scale and the footprint that a building would occupy on the table in terms of actual distance and length, etc.
I don't know how Sarissa Precision scales their buildings or what process they go through but I discovered something that may be of interest to you.
Warlord Games included buildings with their starter sets that are supposed to be compatible with their Epic scale minis. and rules. You can also buy the same buildings separately on their website.
Well, I guess that Sarissa made those buildings with the intention of them being "15mm"erish? Or slightly under? Not exactly sure but I made a startling discovery when putting the Hovels Civil War buildings next to Sarissa's.
The Sarissa buildings are huge. Compared to the Hovels they almost darn near feel like they're 18mmerish.
Hovels by contrast are most certainly true 15mm and perhaps even a shade under, and are very much compatible with Kallistra's 12mm miniatures.
When you put Sarissa's buildings next to Warlord's minis. it kind of works but feels just ever so slightly off. But when you put Kallistra's minis. next to Sarissa's buildings it is painfully out of whack. The soldiers look like Halflings dressed in Civil War uniforms.
But in terms of the footprints of the buildings for the purpose of ground scale, it sure seems to me that the Sarissa stuff that Warlord is selling gives WAY too big of a footprint for the 13.5mm scale of the game. It feels like Hovels' footprints are much more in line with the ground scale of the Black Powder rules.
I will be posting some pictures here later on today to show what I'm talking about.
