Pub trivia answer for the day … Sage Meridien. Now, to serious business … Do you play tactical skirmish combat on ships? Boarding (or repelling, depending) actions, mutinies, spec ops missions. That kind of stuff. Boarding …? No, boring!
I have, but it's rare.
Only ICW ship-to-ship combat.
They're a regular part of the rotation.
It seems like someone's always Under Seige. I play them once in a while ICW ship to ship, or not, in a few flavors: - Piracy in the Age of Sail

I've done some boarding actions in Traveller, but they don't really quite have the feeling of miniatures games. Some stuff I was doing before the pandemic -- fighting in a sort of oversized dungeon, revealed as the players advanced into it -- can be adapted to boarding operations. Maybe next year I'll be able to turn a convention table into a couple of decks of a ship and see how it goes. |

miniMo said zombie outbreak on a cruise ship … that could be a Love Boat game. I hadn't even thought of that, but now I'm planning it. Definitely repel boarders, though not really a "boarding action". Could also go with terrorists/activists taking over … or aliens, or Cthultists. I had never thought of it until I had seen it here … now I'm planning it! |
