…Even with a short list of movies to choose from, a few definitely warrant the attention of war movie fans and people who want to get a (fictionalized) version of what happened during the conflict…

Pork Chop Hill is the only decent choice the others are marginal to terrible.

Should have added Tae Guk Gi, and The Frontline.

Has anyone seen any of the South Korean films about the Korean War? I haven't, but maybe I will.

First I have to finish the list of South Korean spy movies.

@Oberlindes I have seen Battle of Jangsari not a bad movie, definitely a more heroic style, low budget affair, but decent. I did not know it was part of a trilogy. Now I will have to find the other two.

Steel Helmet
Fix Bayonets
Men in War
Were all good for their time, and I beleive done by the Dept of the Army if not in mere cooperation with them.

Pork Chop Hill, absoluitely brilliant and actually sticks right on to exactly as the book was written. Absolute top film.

Tae Guk Gi is a very good Korean film. Overly dramatic but good for kit.

No one ever includes "The Hunters" and somehow everyone tries to forget "Inchon".

How about an honourable mention for "A Hill in Korea"?

Maybe as a side show at the end in "Assembly"?
