… Why Some Say Yes.

"Although not the oldest firearms company in the United States, Sturm, Ruger & Co. nonetheless enjoys a reputation for high-quality firearms. The company, more commonly known simply as Ruger, makes a wide array of firearms including single-shot rifles, semi-automatic pistols, and shotguns, though their revolvers are of particular note.

One of Ruger's revolvers that is worth taking a closer look at? The Ruger GP100…"

I used to carry a Ruger 357, nice weapon, very reliable.

My friend has one and it's pretty great.

It's one of the better ones. The S&W Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman is the best revolver on the planet. :)

Thanks!

I prefer the model 29…

GP-100 is the best one not counting the S&W 686.

When I worked full time I could draw from the holster and fire 12 rounds on target at 7 yards in five seconds, including the reload.

It all about the practice.

For revolvers I will stick with my Colt Python.

I like my Ruger Security Six. Pretty much the same weapon but earlier. Have to get white dot sights for it as my old eyes don't see the plain one that well anymore <sigh>

Still have my old school Roger Blackhawk .357 Magnum. Awww yeah.

I like Ruger, but my favorite revolver is my Taurus Tracker .357 with 6.5" barrel. It's a tack-driver and very reliable.

Second vote for the Python. Four inch barrel.

I'll offer any one of these three old school Smith & Wessons of mine for consideration as "the best revolver on the planet."

S&W Model 25-5 in 45 Colt

S&W Model 19-3 "Combat Magnum" in 357 Magnum

S&W Model 15-4 "Combat Masterpiece" in 38 Special

Thanks for looking and your consideration.

God bless,
John T.

I've got a Security Six as well. I carried it for quite awhile. As Russ said, it is all about practicing with what you have.
