What sort of painting table is that? You can see and find everything. You need to put a cardboard lid full of half-painted Medievals on top the AFVs.

Seriously, nice job.

This was mine in May

My old desk full of paints and modelling tools. I picked this up from a bankrupt shop for £10.00 GBP – they were selling everything, nailed down or not, and the liquidator wanted everything done and dusted. I just happened to be passing and asked if the desk was for sale.

The chest of drawers next to it contains my 'client's lead pile'.

Humbrol, new tins at the back

Brushes, cos you go through a few using enamels

And my view, when it's not dark and the blinds are open – Ilkley, Yorkshire – because my gaming room / painting room is four floors up.

Crispy that is disgusting! You need, like me, a 12 square inch empty space on a table to be perfect. Well actually I'm jealous of how neat you are. My wife sometimes asks, "how do you find the right paint in this mess?".

Nice! Can you come over to my painting table and sort it out for me? ohh and I only have a second floor view.

Stryderg22 Jul 2021 4:51 p.m. PST

Yeah, I'm going to need my painting table squared away, and my window raised a few floors, … and a window. Seriously, thanks for the inspiration, letting us know that cleanliness DOES exist!

I've had the same painting table for almost 50 years now.
And it is more like Robert P described than EC's photo.

How can you find anything?

John the OFM22 Jul 2021 5:30 p.m. PST

You don't need to see mine.
I don't want an angry mob with torches and pitchforks storming my castle to burn that blasphemous heresy that is my painting area.

I'm in the middle of setting up a new painting space. I'll get a picture up eventually.

I have a lovely 14th floor view of the lake to my left.

My paint is all in the rolling cart with 10 drawers. Grouped by color – greens in one drawer, browns in another.

This was mine a few weeks back. I was in the process of going through my painting shelf of shame and trying to get projects finished (and failed) before I started on a major renovation of my wargames room. I'm now fully into the renovation so my wargames room now resembles a building site. Hopefully by the end of August I'll have a nice newly decorated wargames room and my painting area back.

You know wht they say…."A clean desk is the sign of a sick mind,' Just substitute painting table for desk.

Abstain.

I am at the end of a three month TDY. I cleaned my painting desk proper before I left … nothing on it. I packed up my temp one here and shipped all the stuff back the day before Extra Crispy's OP.

BTW, I may have to trade in my clunky artist's caddy for one more like the one EC has.
