What are the odds the Chinese already have the blue prints? |

I've seen a few pics already. Supposed to be officially unveiled tomorrow. Sounds to me like a semi-stealthy F-16 in design. Yes, I suppose the Chinese had them before they were finished by the Russians, sadly. |

The new Russian warplane appears intended to compete with the U.S. F-35 Lightning II fighter, which entered service in 2015. Russia hopes to eventually offer the new aircraft to foreign customers. That shouldn't be hard. Step 1. Make it way too expensive. Step 2. Make it not meet any of its performance objectives. Step 3. Make it a political nightmare and national embarrassment. Step 4. PROFIT! |

I imagine the claims by Russia are just typical, hyperbolic, marketing zeal, and it is nothing like the F-35, really, since if it really was, they probably wouldn't be selling it to other customers. |

it is nothing like the F-35, really, since if it really was, they probably wouldn't be selling it to other customers. Actually they would. Russians are selling a lot of their advanced kit – even S400s to NATO partner Turkey. Su-57 is already being marketed to Algeria etc. If you've got the cash, the Russians will gladly provide the gear. There are differences between Russians and export gear but it's not the old fashioned "monkey models" they used to flog the Arabs. In fact the export stuff is sometimes more advanced eg Indian Su-30MKI Flankers which were more advanced than Russian jets being acquired at that time. |

Now, who will make these in 1/600th scale, in metal first, e.g. Oddzial Osmy or Tumbling Dice? |

LOL! I love that airshow video. So the idea is a Su-75 drops a bomb, then a (stolen?) American Apache actually fires the weapon that destroys the target? Note the TADS target display videos from an Apache. |
