I'd like something for Hordes of the Things if possible, but most army lists are easy to convert to that system. Thanks |

Marvels Wakanda would fit the bill |

I don't know of any sadly. Fantasy African settings aren't really something you see in gaming very often. I have been toying with doing something with Dragon Rampant for a fantasy African setting. I already have an extensive Darkest Africa collection of miniatures and scenery and I though it would be quite cool, to find a dual purpose for them, and add some fantasy elements. So far though thinking about it is as far as I've got. A few Ideas I have had for fantasy African armies included something based on the west African Leopard society link Perhaps using the many cool 28mm giant ape/ armed apes miniatures on the market to create an ape man army. In HoTT I guess giants apes would be behemoths. Gorillas warband and chimps hordes. Something based on witchdoctors. Maybe West African Vodun but go all Hollywood and stick in zombies. Another option is something like the lost city of Opar in Tarzan. link |

Very nice ideas both. Right now I am working on a rewrite of an old, mostly French province which contains two battalions of the Foreign Legion, largely gone rogue, under command of the villainous Warrant Officer Dagibeau, the Force Publique, an Ottoman colony now cut off from the Empire, buckets of ivory traders who raise small armies of askaris and set up their own "Heart of Darkness" style kingdoms, a lost jungle city of blue apes, several native African kingdoms ranging from the noble to the decidedly villainous with greater or lesser proportions of heroes and witch doctors based on their nobility/villainy level, a lost underworld city of vaguely Clark-Ashton-Smithian serpent people worshipping vaguely Lovecraftian demons, and finally, Tongo, Lord of the Jungle (who mercilessly harasses all of the above, though most often the more villainous ones). Right now, I'm setting this up as a roleplaying campaign, though I'd love to do some field battles between the various forces. |

You might try looking at Crocolile Games and their Wargods of Aegyptus range. There may be a few models that would be useful in Darkest Africa. |

Good thought. Also Cthulhu stuff, I suppose. |

I saw that you were using HoTTs and assumed you'd be using 15mm miniatures. If you are looking for 28mm then Reaper have some unusual anthropomorphic African animal miniatures that could be fun. link and badger games have the old Obelisk miniatures range that contains Zombie Baluchis and African Amazons link |

Wargames Foundry "Darkest Africa" had a witchdoctor set that formed the basis of my 3-magician HotT army, along with some mask-wearing warbands and some beast, lurker, and water-lurker elements from plastic Dollar Store animals bags. The Dollar Store was also the source of some war rhinos and an elephant which gained howdahs and together with Foundry ruga-ruga figures formed the backbone of another VSF African army. |

Plastic toys are a true blessing to HOTT |
