Has anyone gotten anything off of this site?

I like the flag:

Napoleon had a sword!?

I wonder if he used it to open letters?

I am disappointed that 'En passant par la lorraine" isn't on the playlist.

Apparently they cater to all sorts of Wargamer's needs:

On balance buying an eagle does seem less stressful than wrestling one off the Frenchies.

Ouch, the 1er Grenadier face mask at $40 USD with shipping!

Still, slightly tempting…

Some cool stuff.

Having bought replica swords in the past, buyer beware. All that glitters is not gold.

I have several 'replicas' and I'd swap them all for my mates original British cavalry sabre c.1810. That cost him about £800.00 GBP several years ago. You get what you pay for, quantity isn't everything.

Who usually authenticates these?

I can recommend these folks for Napoleonic stuff.

My wife bought me this saber from "Empire Costume" in 2013 as my retirement gift. It was shipped to my home in the U.S.

I found the original saber on display at Les Invalides in Paris, France, in July, 2018. I spent some time looking at the original and couldn't discern any difference between the original and my reproduction.

Here are some photos I took of my reproduction saber. My saber is exquisite and looks even better in hand. Also, there are photos of the original at Les Invalides.

Nice. Is this sword as strong, flexible and sturdy as the real thing?

John Tyson10 Jul 2021 6:18 p.m. PST

Au pas de Charge, I suspect this reproduction saber is stronger, more flexible, and sturdier than the real thing. Made of better steel. Even the blade's distal taper is correct. I'm sure any Napoleonic light cavalry officer would be proud to have and fight with this saber.

Another pic of my saber.

It's a stunning weapon. How is it to handle? Have you practiced on anything solid, like melon?
