Greetings all. I would be grateful for help in running down a quotation, of sorts, more an observation relating to the reluctance of Granadino jinetes</> to take on Christian infantry, in particular crossbow-armed footsoldiers as I recall.

I have been sifting through various relevant Nicolle's from Osprey and McJoint's commentary on Prescott's "War of Granad' to see where I might have read it, but with no success so far. Any thoughts?

Is anyone, perhaps, familiar with that observation as a truth, to some extent, sometime between the mid-C13th and 1492

Considering that crossbow out range javelins it would not surprise me that Granadine jinetes would give Christian crossbow a wide berth.

Indeed. It would be nice, though, to have chapter and verse.
