Victrix has Persians and Medes covered pretty well in 28mm. I'm wondering what the good folks in the ancients community are using for groups like the Chaldeans, Assyrians, Paphlagonians, Armenians, Lykians, Caspians, Pisidians, etc etc? So far I've found some good stuff on Casting Room Miniatures but I'm looking for as much variety as possible. |

Old Glory makes Assyrians. I don't know enough about the subject to know if they are what you are looking for. |

Xyston has a very extensive range for 15/18mm – alas, it's not the scale you want. link |

Have a look at Newline Designs' 28mm ranges, I think they cover some of what you are after. Also don't forget Wargames Foundry. |

Thistle & Rose has the stuff you want. These are from the old Vendel range are are large metal 28mm figures. They fill in a number of the voids. Their Lycians and Egyptians are well cast and nice figures. However there are no single ranges that come close to covering all the Persian units in 28mm. 25mm comes close and 15mm has lots of availability. Paphlagonians are covered by Eureka, but I have no idea how they stand up to Victrix giants. Newline Designs has a few models that fill in blanks. You really have to search high and low. Thistle & Rose is a good place to start they are on facebook, the owner is very amenable to helping folks out as he also is a true mensch when it comes to expanding access to metal Persians in 28mm, and some of their armored cavalry are great to convert to Bactrians and Cappadocians. Check out: thistleandroseminiatures@gmail.com for a listing. Newline Old Glory and Vendel mixed: link |

Try our Old Glory "exotic Persian" codes. I think thet are so cool for the Persian units that we truly know so little about. Russ Dunaway |

Miniature Figurines have quite an extensive range in 25mm, based on Richard Nelson's interpretations of Herodotus in the old WRG book – so neither modern figures nor the latest interpretations – at link |

Once again --- I fully believe that no matter who makes the claims --- we really do not know how these people appeared. An old column with a carving by a 4th grader, degraded through the centuries by the elements ??? LOL !! SO --get a composite image in your mind of cool eastern looking troops and make up your own. It is way cooler looking and more fun. Russ Dunaway |

Old Glory "Exotics" are indeed useful alternatives. This one looks like the Immortals from the movie "The 300 Spartans." link |
