Hi friends! Any good books on Japanese Navy ship camo? I've read previous posts, but most are from like 2012, and there were yet no books, from what I gathered. Maybe something new has been published? I know that many ships were all in grey from one of 4 shipyards' particular shade. Plus the red-brown linoleum decks. But I've also seen many diagrams on the web showing nice and funky dazzle patterns on destroyers and some more ships. Also many carries and capital ships in greens, with different ship outlines painted over. Was that only in the late war? Thanks in advance!

Mal Wright, late of this parish, has one due out soon and it should be excellent based on his previous RN books and the previews I have seen of his IJN work. You can see some examples on the Naval Wargaming facebook page. |

Oh wow! I have two of the Royal Navy books, and I'd say they are just about PERFECT. Would you say the book will be printed before or after 6 months, those in the know? And thanks for that site, Dave. I'll give it a thorough read. Actually, the Japanese player is to be a friend of mine; I gonna be the U.S. Navy admiral. I was hoping to gift him a book to help bring him more into the hobby. 😄 |
