With our Betancourt campaign over and not having any other campaigns ready to start, the lad and I had an enjoyable couple of one-off games on Saturday afternoon.
The scenario, one which I've always wanted to try, was the fight between Manfred von Richthofen and the Canadian Ace Roy Brown. Setting up the table, our start was the point at which, historically, Richthofen was shot down, almost certainly by ground fire.
In this scenario, then, we assume that Wilfred May, who Richthofen had been pursuing, has just escaped off the table leaving Brown at Richthofen's 6 o'clock just out of range. Both the red DR1 of Richthofen and the Camel of Brown were at Level 1 and Energy 4. Henry, of course, took the part of the Red Baron and I was Brown. Henry had the initiative. The only environmental factor to consider was the unusual strong easterly wind which meant that we would displace each aircraft 1″ towards the British side of the table after its activation.
