Start of a batch of Panther A for a unit of 9th SS. Theres going to be 8 of these in total.
I decided to use the PSC kit as the best option.

First pick shows the basic parts with a bit of basic fettling.
Exhausts opened, moulded lift hooks, rear hatch handles and lift hooks on engine deck removed and replacement holes drilled.
Various bits of Zimerett taken out, MG and sight holes drilled into mantle. Drivers periscope removed.

Second pick close up of the added weld seams added, Hole drilled for replacement headlight.

Fourth pic shows the basic bits assembled, knive in the foreground is a Swan Morton 'fine series' thats a really handy bit of kit has a terrific set of blades, the chisel blade particularly useful for making weld seams.

Fith pic shows the replacement lifting hooks etc fitted to rear deck.

Seventh pic shows the the rain guard milliputed onto the mantle.

Eighth pic shows the mising zimerret added to the lower hull. This is an easy job.

Just talc the turret side and add a lump of millput to. Wait for this to dry and then carefully pick it off ( toothpick good for this) once its dry you can use it as a stamp. Put a layer of milliput ( rolled out as a thin sheet between talced grease proof paper) smooth off then talc and use the stamp to impress the zimerret texture.

First two off the production line.

Next stage will be getting the airbrush out so gonna be a while before any progress.

Finally got around to getting these finished.
This is the PSC hull mashed up with the Revell suspension.
Loaders hatch fitted from the Adler upgrade kit.
Figures from the Adler German Tank crew figures, the seated figure not yet released but due next month.

This one is the PSC Panther.

Various bits and bobs added, painted in Life Color paints via Harder & Steenbeck Infinity finished off with the usual weathering stuff.

One bazooka shot in the right place and all your work is for nothing!

A very good point, but the trick was to get a view of that right place, if it had decent infantry support, to make sure that you did not get a shot at the flank or rear. Plus, even if you did get a hit that actually killed, you still had to have some hope that you would get home and live another 60+ years. Those escorting panzer-grenadiers could get jolly cross and your bazooka did leave a huge dust signature.

The modelling is great, but the painting is sublime.

I love these. Are you going to base them too?

Glad you like.
They will just be popped onto movement tray/bases when gaming.

Leon,
Beautiful Panthers!! Well done!! I really miss 20mm, but 20mm in my area died years ago, when 15mm started to be the rage here, not for just for FOW but for all WW2 gaming in general because of availability, and increased playing area on gaming tables.
