Guys,

Here's another little project – infantry positions I was needing to make up for the 3mm game kit.

Starting with each plastic-protected base, the trench pattern was penned out, and with a rotary burr the system was cut out, then any weapons pits routed out with a round burr. Last step was to use a fine point marker to color in the trenches (seen above).

Pretty simple, low-cost entrenchment markers, and they'll work on any game mat – for the desert, grasslands, or snow, since the terrain will show through.

I've since pin washed some additional black coverage into the etching, and have played around with the pieces on the game board a bit…..they look just as vivid with the the relief side facing down against the mat's graphics, as they do when facing up.
