Surprised this hasn't already been mentioned. A new UK Blu-ray release (first in UK?) of "Waterloo" appeared last weekend. It's available via Amazon as a 5000 copy Limited Edition. The picture quality is quite superb – better than the recent Imprint Blu-ray release. There's a new 30 minute "Making of" documentary and an audio commentary by a chap who is writing a book on the making of the film. There's also a lovely miniature copy of the original souvenir brochure, poster and lobby cards. Haven't watched it right the way through so I don't know if there's any "lost" footage – it's advertised as 133 minutes so probably not? This puts every previous version in the shade – it's only taken 52 years! |

Looks interesting and would add to the original and French language versions I have. Unfortunately Amazon UK will not ship non digital items to australia and Amazon Australia do not and will not be stocking this item. Disappointing. |

Bought a copy but have yet to watch it. Later this month Arrow have a 2 disc Blu-ray of Major Dundee. similar package – booklet, poster and host of extras also has the longer restored version. link |

I always liked the way in which the film seemed like a live version of the Louis Dumoulin Panorama de Waterloo |

Oooh — to upgrade the DVD or not, hmmm…. The 2007 Atrium DVD lists a runtime of 128min. |
