Greetings, I'm looking for a set of Vietnam Skirmish rules that covers the main years of the war and all of the forces involved. My only previous experience in historical skirmish games with Bolt Action so anything close to that would be great. I looking to run a platoon on each side with ease. Thanks for any suggestions. Just as an aside, has anyone converted Bolt Actions Korean rules for Vietnam? I'd be interested to hear about that. Cheers. |

I've only done a bit of WWII Bolt Action, but a group that I gamed with in Berkeley developed a Vietnam- era version of Necromunda that was a lot of fun. One squad per player with 6 or more players; likely it would be possible to run more squads if the Necromunda- style characterization was trimmed back. |

Try Ambush Alley games Vietnam rules. You need the core rules of Force on Force but they are really good. auction

Geez! What's with all those Ambush Alley prices! I used to own all of those. Now Ambush Valley is from $200 USD-$400. That's worse than Games Workshop prices! |

I use The Long Road South for platoon sized skirmish games in the Vietnam War. You would also have to get the basic Iron Ivan Disposable Heroes rules to play. I've enjoyed this game rule set for 15 years or so, and highly recommend it! |

There's always Giặc Mỹ ("American Enemy", per Google Translate) from the 1970s. Pretty simple, old-school, good fun time. |

People's War (written by a Vietnam Vet) is available for a free download at Nick Yankosky's site Rivertown Publicationspublications. The site also has free rules for the War of 1812, World War One (Over there),his WWI airplane rules (Blue Skys and Wooden struts?) and a fully usable Napoleonic wargame test set with cards. Those rules have excellent graphics to explain the rules. H |

Another vote for Ambush Alley…really like the reaction sequence in the rules which really add an element of uncertainty into the gameplay. |

I'm all for trying the Ambush Alley route but the website is sold out of rules. A used copy of the basic rules is going for $100. USD Ambush Valley, the 'Nam supplement is going for between $200 USD to $400. USD So that kinda rules that game out! |
