So, I was looking on ebay today at forgeworld items for sale for the heck of it. Now, like several others on TMP I have long stopped collecting and playing 40K because of the constant changes, codices, primarus-scaled minis, odd looking miniatures, etc.

BUT…I still have lots of Forgeworld and loved collecting Forgeworld models. So, for the first time in a couple of years, I started looking at FW on ebay. Holy $%*#!!! What has gone on? I see Elysian drop squads (unassembled) going for $600 USD asking price? Are people really paying this much for FW these days?

Anyone have any insight here? I did look on FW's website and looks like they are or have already long stopped production or discontinued many of their models.

The Elysians went out of production a while back, so I'm hoping that's the reason for the ridiculous price.

I know of one Elysian army that keeps getting sold cause no one wants to break the seals and paint it up. But if you want Elysian style models, there's all these resin and 3d printers out there that have unique and amazing takes on alternate minis. Heck, them buttheads at Atlantis have Raumjaeger which are great drop troop types. I think this is an example of GW missing the boat. Their prices can't compete with the many many alternates that are coming online.

GW missed the boat with its limited run box games and discontinued products. I would have bought so much more from them…
