Winter 1941. Coming out of the "Vyazemsky bulge" – the German encirclement in the area of the city of Vyazma – a small detachment of Soviet soldiers is forced to stop in an abandoned village. Break is not obtained. A unit of Wehrmacht punishers is found nearby. Enemy soldiers are looking for a mysterious "Red Ghost" in these places, which attacks the German soldiers. The Germans still do not realize that they are under the gun of a whole group of partisans, and a detachment of Soviet soldiers is also going to enter into battle with the enemies.

Hopefully with subtitles. I am always amazed at the fidelity to details, like correct uniforms, equipment and vehicles found in these Russian made films. Just adds a bit extra for me though I doubt the vast majority of the audience knows the differences.

These films have their own special audience, and they are often familiar with the uniforms and other settings of the reproduced period of history. So observance of historical realities increases the number of people wishing to see the film.
Plus, it's much easier for filmmakers than before. Now in Russia there is a widely developed movement of "historical reenactors" who recreate not only the costumes of past eras, but also study the corresponding regulations and the manner of conducting military operations in the period being reconstructed. The filmmakers just need to invite these clubs to work, and they will receive as many completely authentic extras as they want. And actors and costume designers will receive all the necessary consultations and even ready-made costumes from the reenactors.

I think it will be interesting for you to take a look – Russian reenactors of the US Army during the Vietnam War)))
