Along with the 2nd chapter miniatures and cards for The Elder Scrolls Calls to Arms, Modiphius has released some new "value" bundles to kick off summer. The creme de la creme, a $525.00 USD bundle that includes the rules and a total of about 65 miniatures. For $525.00 USD. Modiphius, what you are doing? That bundle, if you really wanted it to celebrate anything like summer or celebrate your customers, should INCLUDE the DRAGON MODEL or at the very least the BLEAK FALLS BARROW TERRAIN sets. AT LEAST. And bear in mind, that $525 USD price tag for the 65 models is LESS than what you would pay if you bought all of those boxed sets separately. Then those 65 models would be pushing $600. USD THAT'S the celebration. That you're only getting moderately reamed instead of totally reamed. I mean honestly. You can't include a dragon and some terrain when a customer drops $500 USD+ dollars into your account? Here's the link: link And here's a photo of what you get. As an objective observer, tell me honestly. Do you see $500 USD+ of value in that photo? Honestly? I most certainly do not. But I digress.

The obvious remedy is, don't buy it. If people don't pay inflated prices, people stop charging them. And even if they do charge them, just don't buy it. If you don't think it's worth $500 USD, it's not. (I'm not trying to defend them. They look like crap to me, I wouldn't want them for free. But apparently they have a market.) |

Why don't you stop complaining about the prices and just accept you can't afford them…? You keep moaning about their pricing as I can't see that they are going to change them. Mike |

Baranovich said: THAT'S the celebration. That you're only getting moderately reamed instead of totally reamed I disagree with their approach too. I never pay to be only moderately reamed. I say, Go Big or go home. |

Then those 65 models would be pushing $600.00 USD USD Actually the RRP of all those sets would be $748 USD*, so you are getting about a 30% discount over buying individually. I've discussed how we come to the price points we set previously and have nothing to add beyond my previous comments, but I'm happy to answer other relevant questions if anybody has them. *at todays exchange rate and if bought from our webstore.

Have you considered taking up a less expensive hobby? Horse riding or collecting Märklin model trains, for instance. |

…. or possibly historical wargaming ? I hear that someone not a million miles from this message has whole armies on offer for a fraction of the cost of the 65 being discussed. |

Goober, 30% off a badly inflated price is still a badly inflated price. I've lost 50 pounds, but I'm still morbidly obese (70 pounds over my "healthy" weight). Same principle applies here. |

Well, as I have explained before, I do not believe our products are overpriced. If their price is too high for you then I'm sorry to hear that and I wish you well in your endeavours. G. |

Is Goober a rep for the company? I ask because I don't see a name or attribution. Also, is ‘Goober' the best name for a representative of a professional company? (apologies if you are not a rep for them) |

Goober identified themselves by position when Baranovich last raised the subject of loving the Elder Scrolls background but being unable to afford the licensed figures. TMP link |

I hear that someone not a million miles from this message has whole armies on offer for a fraction of the cost of the 65 being discussed. I wonder just who could be offering 128-piece 15mm starter sets for ADLG for just under £40.00 GBP that fit into a large letter box to ensure reasonably priced postage to the USA. Search me! ;-) |

A quick check of Goober's sign-up date shows that he has been on TMP since 2003. Since he's had his name for 2 decades, questioning his professionalism for keeping it, seems a little petty. I'm amazed at Goober's patience and forbearance on these threads. The OP accused his company of theft and abuse(accusing someone of "reaming" their customers goes far beyond the typical cheapskate wargamer's griping about pricing). I would not have been nearly as measured in my responses, had my small business been slandered that way. |

I am indeed the line manager for Elder Scrolls at Modiphius and am using my original TMP account to avoid accusations of sock puppetry. Modiphius also isn't an advertiser here, so I don't advertise or share company news here, but I do endeavour to reply and respond in a personal capacity when relevant topics some up. |

I wouldn't worry too much about these posts. Although on the one hand Baranovich's chronic anti-Modiphius posts constitute a form of harassment if not defamation, sometimes any publicity is good. For example, I didnt know this product even existed until it was posted. He probably doesnt even realize what he is doing and it does seem like many here fly below the radar of the civil legal system. Additionally, outside of a lower price, it is hard to follow what Baranovich actually expects or why he thinks he should get whatever it is he wants. |

They are up front with the price, if you don't like it don't buy it? |
