The clock seems to be running out for the Navy's much-hyped electromagnetic railgun after the service closed down development on the hypervelocity round it was meant to fire in order to make room for new programs. An overview of the White House's fiscal 2022 budget request notes that the gun-launched guided projectile, previously called the hypervelocity projectile, has been canceled, for a savings of $5,900,000 USD

We might need it to shoot down all those UFO's flying about.

$5.9 USD MILLION?

I suspect we're spending more than that on a daily basis on the southern border, and they want/plan to spend at least $10 USD TRILLION more this year alone, so where's the problem?

Penny-wise and pound foolish.

We need supertech like this to combat the Chinese, Russians, Iranians, North Koreans, and other enemies.

Canceling the project is just foolish, and it will come back to bite us, I suspect.

Yeah. That money is change that falls behind the cushions on the couch.

Maybe they're shifting to all LASERS ALL THE TIME
