Hello all, new member here. Also new to the hobby I recently painted up some Emhar and Zvezda vikings and anglo-saxons. Been playing around with the Lion Rampant rules. Anyhow, I find that weapons break easily (those with longer shafts) just from handling them. Lion Rampant is a skirmish game so you move individual models more than if they were mounted on stands so that might be one issue. Anyway, I have fixed some just using loctite. Seems to work ok even though the contact-surface is very small. Any other suggestions on how to fix it? I have read about completely replacing the plastic shaft with a needle or wire. May be an idea, but seems to require very fine drills. |

Replacing spears with wire spears (many commercial suppliers) is pretty much a default for my figures (I do swords as well on some figures). This is not only more robust but lIMO looks better too. With good mini drill bits it's not that hard with a bit of practise but if only doing a few the cost of a good mini drill is a bit steep, but recommended. On tip when drilling; keep a pot of water handy and keep putting a drop on the hole being drilled – this will help. |

You can also replace spears in that scale with nylon bristles from a broom. |

There are very fine hand drills on the market. |
