David Dushman, the last surviving Soviet soldier involved in the liberation of the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz, has died. He was 98… He was Jewish, fought at Stalingrad and Kursk. |

Taps for another brave soldier of the Great Patriotic War. They were our allies against a common enemy. RIP |

He certainly lived a full and eventful life. "One of just 69 men in his 12,000-strong division to survive the war". link RIP Sir |

He certainly lived a full and eventful life. Eventful indeed. Not only was he a witness (even a participant) in the liberation of Auschwitz, he was also a witness to the massacre of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics. Least we forget. My concern is over much worse than those who "forget". Far worse are those who "deny". And as the witnesses leave us one-by-one, it becomes that much easier to deny. It's all "fake news", you know. Can't trust that mainstream media. Just look at this or that website if you want the real truth. RIP to those whose memories will be desecrated by the living. -Mark (aka: Mk 1) |
