Let's hope.

Developments over the last 50 – 100+ years have happened at a rapid pace in some areas, and a snail's one, in others, e.g. ramjet and scramjet tech – 1960s era jets and proposed prototypes were REALLY far superior to a lot of the stuff we are producing now, or hope to in the future.
