"The top US officer in Afghanistan was spotted rocking a pistol that might be all-too-familiar to competition shooters and disciples of Primary & Secondary: a Glock service pistol, tricked out "Roland Special"-style.

US Army General Scott Miller, a former member of Delta Force and competitive shooter, had preciously been carrying a 1911 in-country, but has seemingly switched over to a Glock 19 with the "Roland Special" treatment.

While the "Roland" has kind of become a catch-all for a certain level of customization, the general layman's recipe takes a mid-size Glock frame, adds a compensator on a threaded barrel, mills the slide for a pistol red dot and adds some sights, providing a weapon-mounted light (often the Surefire "Batsignal" X300U or a Streamlight TLR-1HL, but never an OLight, the ultimate volatile faux pas of the "poors")…"
