Nice brushwork, pretty realistic. Love them. Though these look to me more like Franc Archers then Ordonannce Archers. |

Thanks all @Puster – I've already dot a unit of francs archers, and both them and these are mostly made up from the same range (Perry WOTR). To make these look more like ordonnance archers, i.e. better equipped, I did several conversions, most notably sculpting tall riding boots on several, plus some extra layers of mail on a couple (showing from underneath their livery jackets), plus the addition of a few men-at-arms / heavily armoured archers with polearms in the ranks. The riding boots and mail were a commission I paid for, paying per model, so I could have perhaps given all 20 of them boots but it would then be getting a bit too pricey! If Perry Miniatures or any other company had released some sculpts of archers for this period in more armour I would obviously have used them. Ideally riding boots, mail or brigandine with perhaps some plate on the arms and legs, and livery jackets. |

Besides the Perry WotR figures, I can spot a number of archers from the Crusaders WotR range. However, I do have some trouble placing that standard bearer figure – where is that one from, or is it some extensive conversion? |

@Charlie Now you mention it, it stands out! Clearly Ordonnance Archers :-) |

@Griefbringer – the standard bearer is from the new WOTR range from Athena Miniatures. @Gary Flack – it is indeed an arrow bag. |

@Griefbringer – the standard bearer is from the new WOTR range from Athena Miniatures. That explains why I could not identiry it – this is a rather new range that I am only superficially familiar with (and what I have so far seen has not quite inspired me, though no doubt many others will find that range to the their liking). |

Beautiful and inspiring work, just stunning tbh :) |

Puster, Charlie, Many thanks for clarifying the arrow bag So is that a personal supply like a quiver? Or is a units resupply that he carries Sorry for what might be a daft question but medievals are somewhat outside my comfort zone & it's always good to learn new things |
