"CSS Grampus - 1/600th Brown Water Navy Miniatures - WIP" Topic

Hi Guys,

Here's a little gunboat I was surprised to see offered thru Shapeways, from 3D modeling artist Matt Lawson's Brown Water Navy Miniatures – the western rivers scout boat CSS Grampus -

Still painting the model up yet – it'll get more deck staining, some dry, dark pigment along the base of the superstructure for shadowing, and a final dry-brushing to bring out its edges, but I'm having fun readying this little model for some future scenarios. Oh and those little 12-pounders……they're 2mm Irregular cannons cut off their bases (I might eventually get some closer-scaled 3mm O8 versions instead…..as a "mm" at this scale makes a difference!), but for now she'll be sounding the alarm with these little boomers -

That naval flag is the same size as on all the other models….and shows off her long, narrow lines.

It'll be fun assigning the Grampus to her first game……and here's your 'gunboat' to command. ;)
