Decided ages ago I'd like to do an ECW project, but after thinking that between time, money and a lack of likely opponents it wasn't worth trying at my favoured 15mm-scale I decided to give Irregular's 2mm blocks ago. Not sure if they really qualify as miniatures since they are more like glorified board game pieces. Reasonably pleased with the overall look. I think going forward I'll try and add some scenic clutter to the bases to liven them up.

They look OK. I agree with you that that scale is really more like little bumps of lead. But yes, they look OK and you can play a battle in a very small space. Cheers!

They look good. I've seen some incredibly impressive ancient hordes done in 2mm, which got me thinking briefly. I just wouldn't have the patience

Thanks for the comments. Frankly painting at 2mm is pretty impressionistic and easy – its just blocks of colour and a bit of wash. Dry brushing the tops of the pike blocks silver was about as technical as I got. There's some pictures of nice ECW projects kicking around the internet and a really impressive 30-years war project.

Yes Roundwoods World blog is a great source of 2mm TYW inspiration.

My view is 2mm is a scale that will reward you for the painting time you have to put into it. Some like a quick basecoat and wash and get to play quickly (fantastic!). Others (eg Sidney) get incredible detail in. My ancients and TYW projects fall somewhere in the middle!

Nice troops, old eyes here. Struggle to do 15mm now.
