If you were making a 15mm 1940 French force in 2021, which models would you buy for Char Bs and S35s? Thanks in advance. |

I'd buy them in plastic but nobody makes them. As for brands, you have battlefront if you can find them, peter pig and skytrex/Old glory. I tend to loath metal, heavy and paint chips. I'd probably go with Peter Pig if I had to chose. |

Great thanks, anyone else? |

Zebrano has an extensive range of French armour in 1/100 scale. The models are resin and are very well made with amazing detail. They are also expensive, for example the Char B1 is nearly 15 euros on the super-hobby.fr site. I don't know if there is a UK retailer for these models. |

If you are open to other scales then S-Model has a range in 1/72 which you can find on ebay. These are very fine plastic kits. The ones I've seen have single piece track/suspension for ease of construction while the rest of the model is as detailed as Revell/Dragon/Zvezda etc. A good combination. You also get two in a box which makes them very good value for money. |

Another option is Gaming Models (http://www.gamodls.com/). They are resin, and you can't beat the price. In years past, the selection and quality could be a bit of a question mark. Recently both have improved. |

I like and use Battlefront vehicles with Skytrex/Old Glory infantry. |

Battlefront early war is so hard to come by these days. I got some Gaming Models BA-10s and was unimpressed, are their tanks better? |

Lancer has some nice 20mm French vehicles. I've got a bunch in my collection. |

Do people use 20mm tanks in 15mm WW2 armies? |

The Somuas I bought last year are QRF (as are my R35s and H39s). My Char Bs are Peter Pig. |

And are you satisfied with them Martin? |

If you are patient, you can wait for a re-release (in plastic this time?) of Battlefront models for 1940 and game meanwhile with 3mm figures. For a few pounds, you can have both sides. I base my units by platoons. It makes games much quicker and we like it, maybe slightly more than our 15mm collections (that we own too) |

Yeah I'm thinking of Battlefront's future plastics. Why 3mm over 6mm though? Just price or? |

Todd from Wardrobe Plays WW2 just did an unboxing video of the aforementioned Gaming Models French armor: YouTube link |

Yeah I'm thinking of Battlefront's future plastics. Why 3mm over 6mm though? Just price or? Price is second, space and speed of painting are big elements. I base my 3mm in platoons and I can field a lot of units on 90 x 90 cm mat, we have awesome games, we were surprised how fast we can play FOW for instance with this system. |
