Cat litter…scoopable goes into heavier ground mixes. Clay becomes rocks on terrain. I think I have four different brands in my terrain stash. |

Cork bark chunks in the lizard/snake section of the store. Perfect material for making realistic rocks formations and cliff terrain. |

I've considered used black aquarium sand for basing. I have a bucket of it in the garage but I'd have to make sure to take the multitude of snail shells out! |

Not so useful for Napoleonic games, unless you're in Egypt. However lots of very useful stuff for making jungles . |
