There must be dozens … but which was the most prominent in your case …?

Didn't take into account the humid conditions and applied dull coat to a full platoon of W.W. I French and watched them turn into snowmen is a second or two.

I had a bunch of ACW figures that I wanted to rebase. The flocking was all green grass held in place with white glue. I just dumped them into a tub of hot water. The flock came off easily, however, the figures were left with a white frosting. Nothing could clear the issue. I had to strip and repaint the lot of them.

Way back when painted up a 24 fig unit of 15mm ACW rebs – and when I reached for the Dullcoat picked up a can of silver spray paint by mistake – won't do that again!

Dozen Bengal Lancers, a couple of heliograph teams and some spray varnish…only it wasn't, it was black undercoat…..

I've yet to make the wrong can error, but I know it's waiting in the wings.

Mistaking a can of black primer for Dullcote is always a good way to ruin your day

A few units look like the came through a dust storm from a bad Dullcoat episode.

My worst error was to spray paint a horde of Palmyran archers a royal blue colour. I painted hands and faces, but never did get around to the red trousers. But later I found that the jackets should have been a sky blue, not royal blue. 48 figures now need to be completely repainted.

I will not use spray varnish anymore.. I prefer to take it slowly and avoid horrific outcomes.

Before switching to acrylics, I used to mix 2 different shades of Testors paint to make a flesh tone that was perfect. Go forward a few years, and that flesh tone turned pinkish… :-o

I prefer Testors metallics for my metallic painting needs. I had outlined all the various high points on a bunch of Terminators for Space Hulk in Testors gold, and once they were dry, I decided to use the Minwax dip method. Sadly, the amount of solvent in the Minwax melted off all the Testors enamels!

Washes, heavy, heavy washes! I was addicted when I first used them and it took me about 100 minis before I noticed everything was a brown or black blob.

I try, I really try, to adopt Jackson Pollock's attitude toward mistakes.
