Great model

Great model but….blimey! I had no idea that contemporary artillery could wreak such damage. This looks more like the result of WWII naval shore bombardment….and that by capital ships.

I have no doubt it is entirely accurate as such care has been taken in the modelling.

Looks a bit like Malta in 1943, doesn't it?

Impressive piece of modelling.

Building in the foreground is the San Jose, maybe?

All that and they still managed to avoid hitting a single inhabitant?

Looks like there is plenty to fight over still. OK, Round 2 starts in five minutes.

An unusual but hugely interesting piece. Much to look at and linger. thumbs up

Deadhead

The accounts of the action seem to imply that it was a siege fought on what could be described as a building site. And it wasn't just artillery that did the damage to the city and those brave souls defending and attacking it, there were also mines exploded, offering a forerunner of the World War One horror show to come.
