Hi folks, I have a new blog post of my foray into the 2d Paper soldier experiment with outstanding PaperBoys from renown artist Peter Dennis. Come on by and take a look. It may be an inexpensive way to build armies for periods you haven't done yet. link

If you have the money and can't be arsed cutting paper or painting minis, take a gander at these lovelies: link Peter Dennis did the art for these too, probably the same art. Not to take away from Eric's work. I would be way tooo lazy to make the paper soldiers. |

@Mad Monkey – completely agree. I do plan on using the WoFun minis for the Punic Wars. Maybe for a WSS field armies at some point. I'll get the 18mm versions. I'm soooooo tempted by the Jacobite WoFuns, but the fact that there were so few battles I'm not likely to bite on those. |

Problem is that infantry is front and cavalry is side oriented. this modifies the proportion of an army. With my papersoldiers I went for all side-oriented models, totally trimmed off… some pictures to give you idea. Fench Dragon Regiment Dapuphine (1:1 ratio)- Battle of Turin 1706
Russian Grenadiers – Battle of Austerlitz 1805
Dragoni di Sua Maesta (Piedmontese) and 1 battlion REgiment Monferrato

Side pose is ok for solo gaming. If I'm sitting across the table from you I can't see you troops. They are all razor thin. I prefer PaperBoys, but to each their own. |

Granted, side-view soldiers can have a lot more action oriented poses. |

I've been very tempted by the Peter Dennis paper armies for awhile. I like the artwork and the thought that has gone into them. I also like the different style of paperbattles figures. I'd like to compare them for real. Paperbattles, I understand you draw your own, are they available for sale? Prefereably as a pdf (as you are in Italy!) |

TheOtherone; I don't sell them usually… mine is a real hobby. But.. which soldiers do you like? I can send you 2 or 3 sheets for free… for me the best "payment" is your appreciation for my beloved papersoldiers! |

consider they are not double-face, i.e. the two sides are identical.. but in concrete this factor (as opposed to front-posed) doesn't really bother .. |

Paperbattles that is enormously kind of you. I really like the Danish Fynske Regiment and the others from the 1670's. Some infantry and cavalry for that period would be splendid. You might even inspire me to have a go at designing my own. Could you email them to chris@tablescape.co.uk |

Lovely job! I am finishing up two large ECW armies now from Peter's books. I used the 3d cannons from the WSS book. The side view soldiers look great as well. Joe Collins |
