I wanted to order a hexgrid gladiator mat but I can't tell if Hotzmats is still in business. I'm having problems connecting with their web site.

This is an age old problem. If you search the baords here you will see Hotz has a terrible customer service rep. Most people get their stuff, but it can take months, and with no communication.

As of last January, he had shut the business down, due to pandemic-related issues.

Hotz's artwork for Columbia Games was one of the things that sold me on Harn World and the Harn RPG. Shame he wasn't as good a businessman as he is an artist.

I have had great success with Deep Cut studio on custom mats. Cigar Box is limited by size (4 x 6 is largest)

Since you are in the USA, then I second Cigar Box. He has a large selection of mats and is very responsive to queries. Here's one I have (with 4" hexes) in action (15mm figures): Jim
