Screaming Eagles at FSB Ripcord Scenario Book for Skirmish Gaming in Vietnam The Battle for Fire Support Base (FSB) Ripcord was a 23-day conflict between the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles) and the 324B Division of the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) from July 1, 1970 until July 23, 1970. It was the last major confrontation between United States ground forces and the NVA of the Vietnam War. • 11 Scenarios • Rules agnostic & allows for actions from squad level up to company level, and more importantly, are reflective of actual conflict that occurred in the defense of FSB Ripcord • Suggestions to make the scenarios more difficult for the US or NVA side • Resources section at the end of the scenario book has a ton of resources, for the brand new or experienced gamer alike, on how to start wargaming the period from rules and miniatures to additional scenario books and other great wargaming sites • Vietnam Terrain Tips & "Action Pics" • And, it's a free download! link |

My father was awarded a Bronze Star for the actions at Ripcord. He was with 2/11th artillery. |

Generalstoner49, Thank for your father's service. Your dad was possibly commanded by Bob Kalsu, a pro-football player killed at Ripcord. This was a very fun project for me to produce. I really enjoyed researching, learning, and creating the terrain pieces. I hope the book gives credit to your father and all those who fought at Ripcord. Regards, Patrick |
