What better way to spend a gray raining morning than to show off my latest painting efforts for my Napoleonic toy soldier collection. Today I present something a little different, featuring the camp followers on laundry day. You can see more photos on my blog here: link

Different, trying to find figures non soldier types myself. |

Not always an easy task 14Bore. I was very pleased to find such a high quality set in 1/72. I also have his Vivandiere sets to paint, which are equally as nice. |

I wish someone would do something similar in 28mm. The Perrys have some excellent camp scene sets but they only have one camp follower. |

That a bit surprising. I would think a generic camp follower set would sell pretty well. |

Judging by the torrent of bile on this forum that greeted the recent Osprey on Napoleon's Camp Followers, why would any figure manufacturer bother? |

CannaughtRanger – in answer to your query, perhaps because the TMP forum does not represent the totality of opinion? I did see the announcement but missed all of the comments. I will say that there is a ready amount of information online for period dress… |

"…the TMP forum does not represent the totality of opinion?" Another illusion shattered. |

Very well done. From what I've read camp followers would form a considerable part of any army's logistics train in pre-twentieth century days. A long overlooked subject in miniatures. I would welcome more offerings in 15mm and 28mm. |

I quite agree Legionarius. Also, I thought the Osprey book about camp followers informative and very useful. |

What Osprey book might that have been? I freely admit I once said it was the daftest title they had ever come up with. But I did take it back after reading a review. Let us face it, can you criticise, without even reading the text? The response here is, of of course, "Yes, I do it all the time". |

The question ( as I asked had to do with publication as advertisement. Not subject which I think is sorely needed. I usually have a camp in army defending and Russians do another, so wagons and other camp tents get used often, these figures hand out there or clog up roadside when it's all going south. |

They look like Francesco´s Franznap figures. He is a genius and a very nice man to boot. Best wishes, Chris |
