I am currently doing some reading on the Polish Vistula Legion history and uniforms. Can anyone suggest some good English Language references. |

Good start for concise history and covering the uniforms Guy Dempsey : Napoleon's Mercenaries, a must in my view and a very good memoire
Heinrich von Brandt : In the Legions of Napoleon, translated and edited by Johnathan North a fantastic read in my opinion |

Both references above are excellent. Von Brandt's memoir gives some of the best available information on the war in Spain. |

I've found Vincent Rospond's "Orphan Eagles" quite useful. |

In terms of internet freebies, the general history of the Vistula Legions in Spain are covered quite well in: The memoirs of Suchet in English (2 vols) link And the parts of Oman dealing with the war up to 1812 – basically Vols I-V (links on page 1 of the 'Useful Stuff' thread). |

His memoires are also available in German, Brandt became even a General in Prussian service two volumes and other works see link |
