In particular … I like this little diorama for the simplicity and the very good task in painting …. I would like to know what the fellow members think about where the scene takes place … France? … The Balkans? … and I would also appreciate if someone can identify the armored unit seeing the drawing on the back of the tank that looks like some female mythological deity wielding a sword … if someone succeeds … maybe it could be traced where it operated that armored unit at the beginning of the war …

I would guess Russia or at least USSR. Russian modeller, typical houses and those forests of birch..

The rear marking is of 11th Panzer Division. In white not yellow means 1941-5 Curiously the spoked wheel insignia at the front in yellow is of 12th Pz Div.

Well done for providing the added content. You have asked some questions to stimulate discussion and given a personal input.

It's a Befehlspanzer I. It's colour would indicate that it's mid-1943 at the latest, though maybe this one soldiered on in Panzer Grey for a bit longer. I would have been surprised that this vehicle was still around in mid-1943, but then I've just come across a photo of a Befehlspanzer I sat next to a Panther. So at least one made it to the Kursk time period, and possibly beyond.
