A few weeks back Empress Miniatures released their Vietnam civilian range and a corresponding VC range. So you never know in your games if it is just someone from the next village or a VC… This makes it much easier to stage a guerrilla war on the tabletop. So here is the first set:

Nice painting as always. This is a good idea, improves the visuals for the game a helps the GM keep track. |

I often use tokens to mark my civilians working in a field with the number of civilians and the number of unarmed VC. Somewhere nearby is a token that represents where their weapons are stacked if needed. A move over that token and the unarmed become armed (If the US player can see it). Also use tokens to mark animals until the are sighted, odd sounds and smells, food caches, weapon cashes, intel cache, tunnel entrances, booby traps, dummys and anything else I can think of all to keep the US player guessing and/or distracted. |

Legion 4 never expresses the slightest doubt. That makes for a survivor of course. You could put up a column of Vietnamese nuns with orphans in prams and he would call in an airstrike. Not saying he is wrong mind you. If I wanted to smuggle weapons into Hue to celebrate the Lunar New Year…..load those buggies and be sure the babies' nappies were revoltingly filled. No one will search them That is what seems so clever about the new Empress releases. Every civilian figure comes with exactly the same chap toting an AK or RPG. |
