Bill don't be naïve. Out of date ads are all over this website. They should be taken care of is what SHaT1984 is on about. The Williamsburg Muster ad Pops up daily and hasn't been a valid ad for years now. So don't claim you don't know what people are on about I even posted a topic about it not so long ago.

Ravensworth, got a link to your post? I'd like more information about this Williamsburg Muster ad which you are seeing. As there are several in the system, to work on this bug, it would be helpful to know WHICH Williamsburg Muster ad you are seeing. A screenshot would be especially helpful.

Thanks for the screenshot. Turns out there are 12 different Muster banners (retired) in the system, so it is a big help to know which one is misfiring. It may also have something to do with your specific member settings, so I will look into that too.

The job of a Sysop always has been an unforgiving and thankless job. ;-) Normally, I do not follow the Tango drama because I blocked him ages ago. I don't know of any forum in all the hobbies I follow that has/allows someone like him to spam them. Even in the heyday of my youth, I don't think I ever posted five topics in any given day on any forum or email list. And I've been online since the 1970's. BTW I wonder how much strain he was putting on the system and resources?

Now that the limit of 5 has been announced, I suggest raising it to 6 or 7, to silently nullify the very few complaints that inevitably occur. :-)

What about a compromise? Retain the "Rule of Five", but drop the automatic transfer of those topics which just carry links and fail the "Four Hour Rule". Tango's input is rationed and we (we many, who really do struggle with the Links Directory) still get to see the best of his input (unless he is blocked). The Wisdom of Solomon?

I thought it was just me. Thanks mate. What a long strange trip it's been. But lately it occurs to me (in reverse order of course). Compromise works. (and if the second and third lines make no sense, well they never did to real Deadheads either)
