I picked up some 3mm miniatures and was really impressed. I have been curious about 3mm scale for a while and will definitely be expanding my collection. They look good, there cheap and they a paint up fun and fast.

For scale with 3mm miniatures here is a picture of (from left to right) 2mm Roman Legionaries from Irregular Miniatures, 3mm Roman Legionaries from Pico Armor/Oddzial Osmy, 6mm Roman Legionaries from Baccus Miniatures and a good old fashion green army man for scale. I also included some pictures of my first completed base. I calculated that I can recreate a 1 to 1 scale Legion with 110 40x20mm bases! But I am not planning on that. I plan on trying to recreate legion with each base being 1 Cohort, so ten men are represented by 1 figure (there are 48 pre base)

I am not sure if I posted the links for the photos right so if note they can be found here:

Thanks for that. I have been tempted by some 2/3mm figures.

I would recommend 3mm over 2mm. I thought they were a lot more interesting and it seems like the number of 3mm manufactures are growing.

I recommend 15mm. You can actually see the faces, weapons, and shield designs. You will appreciate a bigger size as you get older. But, it's a hobby, to each his own. Happy gaming!

These look fantastic, looking forward to seeing how you paint them.

I've got a bunch of different 3mm Oddzial Osmy too – I wanna do some mini DBA with 20mm frontage.

I was considering the Irregular 2mm and they look way smaller in your pictures!
