Henry and I have just finished our second play test of our "Merry Christmas, Mr Sankara" campaign. Our campaign ran to 5 games, due in part to some appalling luck for Henry in game 4. Most plays of this campaign should run to between 5-8 games.

We have had a fantastic time playing through and I'm hoping to get the campaign book, which runs to about 30 pages, on to the Wargames Vault website this month.

Here are the games in order:

1st air battle over Arbinda, morning of 26th December: link

Advance on Djibo, morning of 27th December: link

Burkina Faso fights back, afternoon of 27th December: link

Counterattack, morning of 28th December: link

Third air battle of Arbinda, afternoon of 28th December: link

My next projects are likely to be the 1969 Football War (cheers Boggler!) and maybe another naval campaign. The Agacher Strip War has been great fun to play, but while I get everything painted for the next project we'll probably be back over the trenches near Betancourt in our Western Front 1917 campaign.

Really enjoyed your campaign and really looking forward to seeing it published. The Football War is an excellent choice for a follow on.

What name are your products listed under on Wargame Vault?

Looking forward to getting this. Does it cover your square conversion ? If not any hints on how you did it?

Sorry guys, I missed these questions.

Brian – the product is listed under "Merry Christmas, Mr Sankara", hope you find it okay and that you enjoy it if you download it.

ChargeSir – The square conversion is reasonably simple fortunately and we've found that it speeds up play and prevents inadvertent moving of the bases. Essentially 3 squares of lateral movement is pretty much exactly the same as 2 squares of diagonal movement. As WaW uses 'actions' which have 5cm movement we count 3 or 2 squares of movement (depending on lateral or diagonal) as being 1 move unit, if that makes sense. Obviously we can't make the 22.5 degree turns in the rules as the minimum turn is 45 degrees, but it's better than a hex grid where the minimum turn is 60 degrees and we've not really had any issues with it. I'll take some photos to illustrate this and put them up on the blog if I get chance over the next week and post on here to let folks know. It works for us.

Best wishes and thanks for the interest.

I haven't got WaW and don't really do aerial, but I may need to buy this anyway as it looks such a nice product. And because I'm _really_ looking forward to the Tanker War naval rules, of course … ;-)
