Which historical real-life military person had the best mustache?

GurKhan02 Apr 2021 1:34 p.m. PST

Alp Arslan.

"… he grew his moustache so long that, when out hunting, he was obliged to knot its ends behind his head that they should not interfere with his aim".

Hitler's and Stalin's were most impactful: though their mustaches differed in quality, both adorned the faces of those who changed the world for the very worst.

W.W. Cooke of 7th cavalry fame.

Herbert H. Kitchner's moustache was quite impressive.

Actually, Hitler had quite the moustache in his pre-WWI days. Unfortunately, you can't get a good seal on a gas mask with something like that, so it was necessary to switch to the toothbrush style.

Well I'm going to go with General Annibale Bergonzoli AKA Barba Elettrica (Electric Whiskers) mainly because it's such a cool nickname.

For me, its Josef Pilsudksi and Ambrose Burnside.

+1 for Burnside. His attached to his side burns giving him the most unique look.

Ok, if I had gone with a real person half of TMP would have had a heart attack. So going with the "get real" flow how about Hiram Berdan?

Inventor of the Berdan Rifle and commander of Berdan's sharpshooters.

If the Bayeux Tapestry is to be believed, it's got to be Harold Godwinson…
