….wargaiming action in Arizona or Florida? Dear old Dad is planning on selling and moving to warmer climes. He is looking at Arizona(Sun City) or Florida(The Villages or Sun City Center), and isn't sure where his mounatin(and I do mean mounatain!) of 25mm Minifigs would get a lot of action. So, any input to help with the decision is appreciated. BB |

Search for Game stores in the area and call a few. Someone 'might know a guy' or know about local cons. Facebook might also have some interest groups for the Period he plays or local gaming Groups. I'm on several in the Denver area, only 5 hours away :( |

Both areas have wargaming communities, Florida is bound to have many more conventions though. |

There is an active gaming scene, to include historicals that works around Imperial Outpost in Glendale, AZ: link Also, there's a very active club in NE Mesa, AZ that focuses on historicals. I belonged to this group and it's great. link |

HMGS South puts on RECON the last full weekend in April and HURRICON the last full weekend in September in Kissimmee (Orlando area). Distance from Sun City about 85 miles, from the Villages about 70 miles. Two great conventions and a good place to meet local gamers as well. |

Second Marc's comments. Great gaming cons and good people. |

Gaming for minis, board, and cardgames at Alpha Fortress Games (and soon, we hope, at Game On) in Chino Valley and Prescott respectively. Maybe a far drive from the valley, but there is an active community in the Phoenix area as well. |

A lot of miniature gaming in the Sarasota area, just south of Sun City Center, FL. Then you have miniature gaming close by in Pinellas County (Think Clearwater beaches), Tampa area, and 2 annual HMGS-South conventions in the Orlando area. We have a plethora of gaming stores. |
